Tuck Beds

Our Tuck Bed collection first developed when a client was in need of a Murphy bed for their guest room that could display books. The key issue in these wall mounted beds is what to do with the huge underside of the bed when it is folded. In this design I created rows of narrow shelves to place books facing out, photographs or drawings. The strips of clear acrylic hold the books in place as the bed opens down. This bed is a Queen size and is mounted sideways. This bed has been in the home of several New Yorkers. The one of a kind piece has been resold several times and fixed to accommodate the new home. From this project we developed various Murphy beds that can be used in home offices, studios, or playrooms.

Since then the Tuck collection has expanded to include standard twin size and full size Murphy beds.

A Tuck bed over a daybed with optional coffee table is ideal for studio apartments where your living space has to also be you sleeping space.

In this custom solution we added a collapsible desk to the front of the tuck bed so the space can double as a home office.
